Company History

Oxbow Office Equipment (Pty) Ltd started operations in 2003 with the clear vision of Sales & Marketing of the Xerox brand of hardware & software products.

In 2005 the customer satisfaction level was 96% average, Oxbow doubled their turnover and profit year after year and won the prestige's honours club award for Xerox Africa in 2006 and 2007.

Xerox develops and owns the technology inside its products, giving the company a competitive edge and allowing reduction on research and development time between product introductions. This also allows for the timely integration of customer input into product design and development.

Oxbow Office Equipment (Pty) Ltd became the authorised Xerox Concessionaire in Cape Town for the private sector and Oxbow Kwelu for the Public Authorities.

Our focus is on output technology, be it print, copy, scan, fax, E-mail or workflow and content management software as a means to greater efficiency and perfect return on investment.

Oxbow as a business partner can offer a different perspective on output. We are a flexible, committed partner who owes our existence to innovation within this sphere.


Koos Ligtenberg (Dutch) – Managing Director

  • Started in the office automation industry in 1985 with Agfa Gevaert.
  • 1985 - 86: responsible for the copier sales in The Haque.
  • 1986 - 87: implemented PostScript printers and Document management systems like CAPS in the corporate world in Holland.
    Customers included Holland Signaal, Unilever, Philips and Fokker Aircraft.
  • 1987 - 90: worked in the graphical Industry for Agfa Compugrafic, responsible for the Image setters in the southern part of Holland.
  • 1990 - 92: started to work for Xerox (then Rank Xerox). Responsibilities included the introduction of the 4850 in Holland and the introduction of the use of colour in business documents.
  • Started his first Xerox concession in 1992 in Rotterdam and within 2 years they were no.2 in Holland in size and turnover. They merged with later partners Bas and Daniel Klaassen in 1999 and that made the company Xerox West Holland the biggest concessionaire in Europe.
  • In 2002 he decided to come to South Africa and started the Western Cape Xerox concession in 2003. The company had a 100% growth over the first 3 years of its existence and had great financial success in 2005-2008, walking away with awards every year.
